Sigma was created in 2009 by the molecular bacteriologist Dr Simone Xavier and Rene Xavier Filho, a civil engineer, who were both determined to shake up the makeup market. The Sigma brand can be seen to have revolutionised makeup application with its range of brushes. The brand initially launched one brush set, which sold out immediately. Today, Sigma has continued this legacy onwards with a whole line of forward-thinking makeup and even more brushes.

The brushes are created with new and innovative polymers that are bonded together by extremely thin fibres. This unique bonding system allows makeup to be applied to the face in a seamless and natural way.

The Sigma team is driven by a problem-solving team of 90% female employees, who are constantly addressing gaps in the market according to the needs of real consumers. This has led to the birth of more iconic products such as the Ambience eyeshadow palette, which is full of golden shimmery shades that can be effortlessly blended on the lid for a radiant look.
